Throughout the process of growing, we experience obstacles, messiness, and opportunity. In our sessions, we will reflect on difficulty, process uncertainty, and build skills to move through the challenges that you encounter.
I believe that we all contain the capacity to create a meaningful life. I delight in working with people to build upon the strengths they have. I work with adolescents (13 years and older) and young adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, and grief. I welcome the full person into therapy and enjoy working with individuals exploring their identities, particularly those who are also part of the LGBTQ+ community. I also invite those who are adjusting to new stages of life or relationship changes.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, relational and depth-oriented. With creativity and warmth, we will explore the patterns, identities, and experiences that have contributed to who you are. I prioritize understanding what is most important to you as we develop goals for therapy. I draw from evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness. I believe that community, humor, and connection to our surroundings are all important to our development.
I bring a decade of experience working in school, college counseling, outpatient, and community-based crisis response settings. I have a depth of understanding of educational systems in Chicago.
I encourage you to reach out for a free 30-minute phone consultation to see if we may be a good fit.
