Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®)

Event Date:

July 29, 2022

Event Time:

10:00 am

TRE® is a somatic body based practice for people experiencing stress, anxiety, trauma or PTSD. Stress and trauma are universal experiences that impact everyone on multiple levels. In these past few years, we have been especially inundated and exposed to increased levels of stress and trauma while also being more isolated and with limited access to resources. And as therapists, we have added stress and vicarious trauma as we bear witness to those healing the deepest of wounds.   TRE® is a series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma by safely activating the natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When the muscular shaking or vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return to a state of balance.

Some of the benefits that you may experience by practicing TRE® are:

– decreased anxiety
– release of chronic tension
– improved sleep, mood & digestion
– decreased aches and pains
– improved flexibility
– decreased symptoms of sciatica, fibromyalgia and other chronic conditions

In this experiential workshop you will be given a brief overview of TRE®, taught the TRE® exercises, and brought through a tremor session with a group.  There will be time at the end to come back together as a group to share your experiences and ask questions.  After this workshop you will be able to continue with TRE® on your own or you may inquire about individual TRE® sessions.

TRE® is suitable for people of all ages and levels of fitness as the exercises can be modified to accommodate anybody’s needs.

*Due to the physical nature of the course and lack of studies regarding TRE and pregnancy, women who are pregnant are unable to participate.*
