This training will explore how we can use exploration and activities of play, pleasure, and joy in helping adults to heal from both complex and acute traumas. We will address specific considerations for exploration or use of Table Top Role Playing Games, Video Games, Board and Card Games, Art, Nature, Sexuality/Sensuality, and Physical Activities. The training will include both lecture and experiential components and will be taught from a Decolonial and Liberatory stance. The talk will especially center the experiences of Black Queer people.
1. Attendees will be able to explain the benefits of including a focus on Joy in trauma work.
2. Attendees will learn ways to utilize activities of play, pleasure, and joy to help adult clients connect and reconnect with themselves.
