IL Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (IDFPR Required Training)

This is a training designed to satisfy IL training requirements for all health professionals, with content that specifically addresses sexual misconduct in the field of mental health. 

Sexual Harassment in the workplace is costly and damaging to both employers and employees. Not only would sexual harassment pose a risk of legal cost, but the human cost is also the most devastating. This one-hour training covers the legal and ethical guidelines of sexual harassment prevention and the required steps for employers to address ongoing harassment. Remedies and legal procedures available to victims will be covered. 

This course will cover the following areas:

  1. An explanation of sexual harassment outlined by the Illinois Human Rights Act;
  2. Review of Ethical Standards regarding sexual relationships and sexual harassment pertinent to clients and supervisees. 
  3. Examples of conduct that may constitute unlawful sexual harassment;
  4. A summary of Federal and State statutory laws concerning sexual harassment, including remedies available to victims;
  5. A summary of employer responsibilities in the prevention, investigation, and corrective measures of sexual harassment.

 

Workshop Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to review rules regarding sexual harassment prevention in ethical codes and by law. 
  2. Participants will learn the definition of terms related to sexual harassment prevention in the workplace. 
  3. Participants will learn at least 3 ways sexual harassment can be identified in the work environment. 
  4. Participants will learn at least 5 consequences of sexual harassment as defined by law. 

 

About the Speaker:

Shan Ru Lin is a Certified Sexual Assault Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), a Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and a Certified Art Therapy Supervisor (ATCS) in Chicago, Illinois. 

She has a long history of working with women, adult and childhood sexual assault survivors, marginalized populations and those most impacted by the lack of social justice. She has worked with women, adults, and children with a history of trauma in the community, medical, and educational settings. Shan currently works as a counselor, art therapist, educator, and off-site ATR supervisor in private practice. She is the founder of Spring Advisory, a consulting firm focused on providing mental health services and serving the mental health professional community.

Registration for CEUs


This workshop fulfills the requirements for 1 CE credits. CE sponsorship is approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), and credits are applicable to LCSW and transferrable to LCPC in Illinois. If you have a different licensure or are licensed outside of Illinois, please check with your licensure body before purchasing.
