Child neuropsychologists often conduct lengthy evaluations that lead to diagnoses, interventions, and classroom recommendations, and for some, the evaluation process can be unclear and mysterious. This presentation aims to demystify neuropsychological evaluations by walking audience members through the step-by-step process of an evaluation and giving the audience a behind-the-scenes look into the thought process and decision-making of a neuropsychologist. Together, we will unveil the mysteries of testing and data gathering, as well as diagnoses and recommendations.
Attendees will learn:
1. The step-by-step process of a neuropsychological evaluation
2. How neuropsychologists select a testing battery
3. How neuropsychologists use the evaluation process to inform diagnoses and treatment recommendations
4. How an evaluation can help children by affecting change in multiple ecological systems (child, family, school)
