his The Chicago Black Therapist Directory was curated by the Chicago-based mental health counselor Cicely Green as a response to Black Lives Matter and George Floyd protests in June 2020. The document reached coast to coast and thousands of re-shares, comments, and contributions before the end of June. By the end of summer 2020, over 200 Black therapists had been added and it continues to grow. This overwhelming response showcased the need for the directory to be transferred to a website – providing a more seamless way for anyone to find a Black-identifying therapist while also creating a community for Black mental health.

In this webinar, we will be walking you through the site offerings and how to join the directory. We will also discuss how to digitally market yourself or your practice through a therapist directory and other mediums. There will be time at the end for participants to ask questions and share their suggestions and feedback on this directory. Join the community at chicagoblacktherapists.com.

Cicely is a practitioner and healer of all things health, wellness, and movement. She has become a leader and resource in her community on aerial silks, yoga, mindfulness + meditation, mental health, marathon running, and endurance sports. Through her journey, she has noticed one common theme – the lack of others in these spaces who also identify as a Black womxn. This inspired her to utilize her platform and knowledge to create spaces in wellness and movement for Black-identifying individuals. She is also a founder and contributor to various inclusive wellness communities.
