Being in Groups: Finding Oneself with Others (Workshop Cancelled)

Event Date:

November 5, 2022

Event Time:

10:00 am

Event description

The goal of this program is to teach Mental Health Clinicians a variety of theoretical orientations and interventions that can be integrated into their practice setting upon completion of the training. The majority of the training is done experientially, which provides participants the ability to more fully conceptualize the experience of being a patient in a psychotherapy group. This part of the training will then be discussed didactically, allowing participants to understand the “how” and “why” the group facilitator utilized the interventions he did during the experiential portion of the training.

Objectives

  • Group dynamics
  • How to reduce the leader’s and group members anxiety and increase connection
  • A multitude of clinical interventions, which can be applied within short and long-term psychotherapy groups

  • The various roles of the group leader
