Too often are counseling professionals pushed towards the conventional norms of marketing, often limiting the type of clients they are exposed to. Acknowledging yourself as a layered individual while showing authentic self can serve a strength when seeking referrals.
As above So below will address the positive ways sense of self-identity reflects in marketing. This workshop is designed to help clinicians look within and stimulate thought towards authentic marketing that will speak to their type of client. Collaborative discussion around identity and professionalism provide counselors room to reflect on how they are marketing themselves.
The goal of the workshop is to encourage clinicians to embrace a radical level of self-acceptance, that in turn fosters growth in client relationships.
About the Speaker
Shantrell Sutton (she/her), LPC is a consultant, author, licensed counselor, and community researcher. She currently operates Melinated Interpretations, an Chicago-based consulting agency dedicated to ending mental health disparities in communities of color. As a passionate advocate, Shantrell works to research intergenerational trauma transmission while obtaining a PhD in Community Psychology. Shantrell enjoys giving back to the community and serves as a member of the Black Girls and Womens Caucus advisory board. Some of Shantrell’s most recent work includes presentations for ABC, Salvation Army and a variety of others. Shantrell has emerged as an expert in community wellness and spends her free time promoting wellness on social media, in public presentations and through research.
